Hog Roast, Children’s Party and Prosecco Party
3 – 4 June 2022

JUBILEE CELEBRATIONS

2022

We are trusting that all who came to the celebrations had a good time.
The Hog Roast was a very popular get together with plenty of folk enjoying good food
and drink which always goes down well with music! along with the summer weather
too of course. (Well, there was a few spots of rain that no one noticed)! Sizzling Pig are
a new Capel Dewi Company which we supported in our efforts to make our community
events eco friendly, they provided the delicious Hog Roast and sausages in a bun. We
were very impressed by the Band too; No Mean Biscuit; who are becoming a local cult
group!! I am certainly a groupie for the first time in my life!! Plenty of you danced the
night away to this fantastic Swing Band and glamorous Jazz singer.
Perhaps an event we can create again next year, what do you think?
Our two parties for the community were very much enjoyed by both the young and the
older generations. The children and their parents were very impressed to say the very
least by Purple Penguin who was the most beautiful Fairy Snow Queen, having
seemingly fallen off a Disney float from another world mesmerising the children
through out her entertainment, I am sure the parents would like to go on her crowd
control courses should she run them or was it magic?? Each child went happily on
their way with a gift, some of which had a bonus with a prize for their crowns too,
plenty of precious memories of the community children’s party 2022.
Watch this space there may be a Christmas Party too!

The older guests may I have been a little more rowdy if I am honest but full of
excitement at having the chance to come together and meet old friends along with
meeting new ones who have moved into the village over the last two years!!
Hat competition prizes and Quiz prizes went down well along with a Posh Celebration

Tea treats created by Emma Williams @ the Four Season Cafe.

Please find enclosed our itinerary to the events we are organising for our village community and beyond. We are hoping to attract a good response from our village across the ages by celebrating the anniversary of Queen Elizabeth II on her amazing reign of 70 years. Long Live The Queen. As you will see from the Itinerary we have several events and would be pleased to see you at the one that you feel would be the most appropriate to you.

Friday 3rd June 2022
The Hog Roast will start with the Bar opening at 7pm followed by the entertainment and the Hog Roast at 8pm. A chance for all the village to come together and unite in the celebrations along with joining up again as a village after the restrictions of the last two years due to COVID conditions.

Saturday 4th June 2022
The Children’s Party is to give the children a chance to meet new and old friends. A chance to enjoy a party in what was a school in days gone by, quite different to the ones they attend now I am sure. The FREE event is intended for children up to Year 6. There will be entertainment in the Annex for them after their Tea and we will have a Grand Competition for Their Crowns which they will make and wear through out the event. We are holding two, out of school time classes to help them with their creations. The judging will be undertaken by Brigid Jones Curator of the Studio Cennen Exhibition Hall in Llandeilo. We will also be presenting the children with a commemorative gift of the Queens Anniversary. The Children’s Party begins at 2pm and ends at 4pm.

The Prosecco Party is for The Queens Generation! for those of us who remember her coming to the Throne 70 Years ago. We are inviting the guests to create or modify a hat which would have been in fashion in the 40’s and 50’s to wear throughout the Tea Party and be judged by Brigid Jones. We will be holding two classes for the respondents to help them with their creations by a member of Carmarthen Art College. Our Tea Party will be served with Prosecco or a Non Alcoholic drink to lift the celebrations to another level. The Prosecco Party begins at 4pm.

We will be holding a raffle at each event to help with the funds but in essence the events are FREE there will be a charge for the Hog Roast. All events will have to be booked by the cut off date of 22nd May to minimise any waste in over catering. We are looking at making the events eco friendly and encouraging villagers to help with the events. Parents will have to be with their children to cover the child safety aspects, considering our duty of care.
